Matthew Daly - Principal of Energy and Utilities, West Monroe Partners

Matthew Daly is a Principal in West Monroe’s Energy & Utilities Practice in New York. He has more than 10 years of experience leading projects for business clients and non-profits from initial strategy and planning, to implementation and program management, and through final evaluation against metrics and key performance indicators. Matt is particularly interested in using energy and sustainability as lenses to add value for businesses and their stakeholders, finding ways for the efficient use of resources and innovative technology to lead to better business and ESG performance.

At West Monroe, Matt frequently works with electric utilities, and energy companies that serve them, to develop financial models to evaluate new technology investments and implementation strategies. Selected examples include scenario modeling to evaluate the effects of different rate structures and regulatory regimes on the returns from interconnected DER investments by customers on the grid, developing a pilot program and business case tool to evaluate different technologies and smart city infrastructure investments, and financial modeling for a nation-wide provider of energy efficiency services that was used to select a new application to unify operations across programs and offices.

Prior to joining West Monroe Partners, Matt was a Consultant at the UN Global Compact Office, where he worked with companies in diverse industries around the world to develop and share best practices for human rights and environmental sustainability in business. He was also the Deputy Director of Earth Day New York, an environmental non-profit where he focused on educating the public on the business case for sustainable building technologies and consumer products and delivering educational programming across New York City.

Matt received an MBA from Cornell University in 2015 and a BA in History from Yale College in 2006.
