Anke Wessels has served as the Executive Director of the Center for Transformative Action (CTA) since 1997.  CTA an independent education-based 501(c)3 affiliated with Cornell University that provides fiscal sponsorship for social entrepreneurs with innovative non-profit ventures. CTA’s services support these change makers with a well-established back office infrastructure, business services as well as mentorship, so they can focus on building the capacity and programs to realize their social mission. CTA also offer educational programs--courses, conferences, and workshops—to support a diverse group of new or experienced social entrepreneurs in transforming the economy so that it works for everyone.

 

Dr. Wessels is also a visiting lecturer in Cornell’s Dyson School for Applied Economics and Management where she teaches a Practicum in Social Entrepreneurship focused on Anabel’s Grocery, a student-run nonprofit grocery store.
