Ralph Hamann

Ralph Hamann is Professor and Research Director at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business. His research and teaching is on business sustainability, social innovation, and cross-sector collaboration. Rated an “internationally acclaimed” researcher by the National Research Foundation, he has published in diverse outlets including competitive management journals such as Journal of Business Venturing and Journal of Management Studies, and he is an executive editor of Environment: Science and Policy for Sustainable Development.

 

Among his other roles, he is founder and academic director of the Network for Business Sustainability (South Africa) and co-founder of the Southern Africa Food Lab, for which he received UCT’s Distinguished Social Responsiveness Award. He has been a visiting researcher, teacher, or consultant at a range of organisations around the world. Ralph grew up in Africa, Asia, and Europe and has traveled widely, including a sailboat crossing of the South Atlantic.
